Celebrating Goodwill Week: Honoring the Power of Work and Our Incredible Team

Every year during the first full week of May, more than 150 Goodwill organizations across the U.S. and Canada come together to celebrate Goodwill Week—a time dedicated to raising awareness of Goodwill’s mission: transforming lives through learning and the Power of Work.

This year, our Goodwill is proud to celebrate by turning the spotlight inward and recognizing the heart of our mission—our people. With over 300 team members across 10 retail stores, our transportation operations, business services department, administrative offices, and the dedicated community impact team, we’re taking time to appreciate the incredible individuals who drive our work every day.

During the week, we’ll be hosting our annual Team Purple Team Building Event, bringing together team lead coaches, the community impact team, and corporate staff for connection, collaboration, and a bit of fun.

We’ll also be sharing stories that highlight our impact across the communities we serve on our social media platforms—Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Be sure to follow along to see the difference Goodwill is making locally.

“Goodwill is an amazing place to work and grow, and Goodwill Week provides us with a unique opportunity to celebrate together,” said Ryan Payton, Goodwill’s Vice President of Human Resources. “We continue to focus on greater recognition of our team members while providing them with more opportunities for career growth both inside and outside our Goodwill.”

We invite you to celebrate Goodwill Industries Week with us—by donating, shopping, or simply saying thank you to a Goodwill team member whose hard work is creating positive change in your community.

Because here, Good Happens—and it starts with our people.
