Donations
When you donate to Goodwill, you’re doing more than clearing out your home – you’re helping your neighbors build brighter futures while keeping usable items out of local landfills.
Every donation stays local and helps fund employment services, youth programs, housing support, career training and other services that help people build brighter futures throughout Marion, Delaware, Union, Crawford and Morrow counties. That’s how Good Happens Here.
We accept most gently used clothes and household items. Learn more about what we do and do not accept, and where you can donate:
Sustainability: We also want your torn or stained clothes, lamps that don’t work, small appliances that don’t work, torn up stuffed animals, and worn shoes. We will recycle these items. Last year we kept nearly 5 MILLION pounds of clothing and textiles out of landfills.
Yes. Marion Goodwill Industries is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, and both monetary and material donations to Marion Goodwill are tax-deductible. To learn how to determine the value of your material donations, click here.
Goodwill takes the privacy of our donors very seriously, and we take great care and concern for all devices that could possibly contain customer data. We do ask that donors do their best to delete any sensitive information that may be on their devices before donating them.

If your company is hosting a donation drive, or your neighborhood is hosting a community garage sale, contact our donation team to see if your event qualifies for alternative pickup methods.

We proudly operate 11 retail locations with donation centers and four specialty stores (Goodwill Outlet, Goodwill Bookstore, Goodwill Kids Store and Ecommerce store) in Marion, Delaware, Union, Crawford and Morrow counties. Find a location near you.

We accept returns and exchanges on clothing, shoes, and electronics within 7 days of purchase. To complete the process, please bring the item(s) along with the original receipt and tags to the Goodwill store where the purchase was made. Items cannot be returned to the Goodwill Outlet Store. We do not offer cash refunds. Returns will be credited to a Goodwill gift card.

Items are sold as-is. Before purchasing we encourage you to look the items over, check sizing, and test electronics when possible. Our team is always happy to help answer questions before you buy.
While we don’t offer traditional discounts, you can save in other ways! Join our GoodRewards loyalty program to earn points when you shop and donate, and don’t forget to check out our weekly Color of the Week Sale.
Each week items with a specific color tag are offered at 50% off the price marked.
When you shop at the Goodwill Outlet, you’re in for a whole new shopping experience but with the same Goodwill mission. Merchandise sold at the Outlet mainly features unsold items from our traditional stores, giving your donations one last chance to sell at bargain-priced, by-the-pound rates. At Goodwill, we honor the value of each donation and give them multiple opportunities to sell.
The Outlet sells clothing, shoes, home goods, books, and more! You’ll see large tables with items that get rotated throughout the day with fresh merchandise, giving customers new anticipation as they shop!

Sustainability
At Marion Goodwill, we work hard to give every donation a second chance. Items that can’t be sold in our retail stores may be repurposed, recycled, or processed into new materials instead of ending up in a landfill.

Yes! Through our partnership with Dell Reconnect, we accept computers and many types of electronic equipment from any manufacturer, in almost any condition.
Accepted items include:
- Desktop and laptop computers
- Monitors
- Keyboards and mice
- Printers
- Cables and cords
- Hard drives
- Computer accessories
- Many other electronic devices
All electronics are responsibly recycled in the United States, where materials are securely dismantled and recovered for reuse.
Yes. We encourage donors to remove any personal or sensitive information from their devices before donating them.
While our recycling partners make every effort to securely process donated electronics, deleting your personal data before donation is the best way to protect your privacy.

When generous people donate gently used items to Goodwill, we sell those items in our stores to generate revenue that funds local programs and services. Those funds help provide employment services, youth programs, housing support, career training, supportive services, and other opportunities that strengthen individuals, families, and communities throughout Marion, Delaware, Union, Crawford and Morrow counties.

Yes, Marion Goodwill is an independent nonprofit affiliated with Goodwill Industries International. While we share the Goodwill mission, our organization is locally governed, and every dollar earned here stays here to support programs and services throughout our five-county region.
