Program: Crawford CCMEP / Summer Youth Program
Funded by OhioMeansJobs – Crawford County and facilitated by Goodwill Industries
Graduate of GOAL Digital Academy
Before joining the Crawford CCMEP/Summer Youth Program, Shad had no work experience and often found himself bored at home. After hearing about the program through GOAL Digital Academy, he decided to give it a try—and it opened the door to new opportunities.

During his first job experience at the Galion Goodwill, Shad enjoyed helping with community events such as Candlelight Christmas and the Crawford Council on Aging Valentine’s event. He found fulfillment in serving others and being part of activities that make a difference in the community.
“It has been good. I’ve had a ton of fun helping with events. They feel like an easy day off while still helping people in the community.”
Through the program, Shad gained meaningful work experience, developed confidence, and celebrated an important milestone—graduating from high school.
When asked how Goodwill impacted his life, Shad shared:
“Goodwill gave me something to do so I wasn’t stuck at home bored. I feel alive.”
Looking ahead, Shad hopes to continue building his work experience, discover a career path that fits his interests, and possibly pursue a future in animation.
Shad’s Advice: “Highly recommended for anyone going into the workforce!”
The Crawford CCMEP/Summer Youth Program, funded by OhioMeansJobs – Crawford County and facilitated by Goodwill Industries, helped Shad gain valuable job skills, connect with his community, and take important first steps toward his future career goals.
Congratulations, Shad, on your graduation and all you’ve accomplished. We look forward to seeing where your future takes you!
