Johnny is a participant in the Morrow County Youth Program – Edge, funded by Morrow County Job and Family Services and facilitated by Marion Goodwill. He first learned about the program through his grandmother, who encouraged him to join to help further his work journey.
In addition to Edge, Johnny also participated in our OOD Summer Youth Program, where he gained valuable hands-on experience. Through these opportunities, Johnny was placed at Heartland County Resort in Morrow County, where he worked during the school year and over the summer.
Johnny shares that being part of the program has given him independence – allowing him to earn his own money, learn how to communicate with a boss, and even build skills in money management.
His favorite part of working at Heartland? Feeding and watering the animals!
Looking ahead, Johnny is determined to become a welder. He believes his work experience and strong background in manual labor will support his future goals.
