Funded by Crawford County Job & Family Services and facilitated by Goodwill Industries
Xander Clark learned about the Crawford County CCMEP program through a friend at a time when he was actively trying to find his first job. Although he had not worked prior to joining the program, he was motivated and ready for the opportunity.
Through CCMEP, Xander was placed at the Goodwill store in Bucyrus, where he began gaining valuable hands-on work experience. Currently a junior at Pioneer Career & Technology Center in the Power Equipment Mechanics program, Xander is building skills both in the classroom and on the job.
When asked about his experience, Xander shared that he looks forward to gaining more skills and experience while working at Goodwill. The program not only helped him secure employment, but it also supported him in developing financial responsibility. Through CCMEP, Xander obtained his first debit card and began learning how to better manage his money — an important step toward independence.

Xander’s future goals include graduating from high school and establishing a steady career in mechanics. He is very appreciative of the opportunity he received at Goodwill and says the people he works with are kind and supportive. He also noted that the program is beneficial and easy to follow, making it a positive experience for participants. Xander’s journey is a great example of how partnerships between Crawford County Job & Family Services and Goodwill help young people gain confidence, skills, and a strong start toward their future careers.
